Man on Motorcycle Arrested after Fleeing from Deputy in Maine

A 46-year-old man was arrested Friday and charged with driving to endanger after fleeing on a motorcycle in Bradford.

Motorcycle Fled from Deputy Leading to Pursuit

A Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputy tried to pull Albert Severance from LaGrange over when he sped away with a passenger on his motorcycle.

Passenger Got Off the Motorcycle During Chase

 “A short distance later, the deputy caught up to the motorcycle as it slowed to a stop on Reeves Road. The passenger exited the motorcycle before the operator accelerated away from the scene once again,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Pursuit Stopped for Safety Reasons

The deputy stopped the police pursuit for safety reasons and recorded the motorcycle’s registration.

Suspect Arrested and Taken into Custody

Severance was later apprehended on Storer Road and taken into custody without incident.

Facing Several Charges Including Eluding an Officer

He was charged with Driving to Endanger, Eluding an Officer, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, False Attachment of Registration Plates, Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Failure to Provide Correct Name.

Man had Multiple Warrants

Severance also had several outstanding warrants and received multiple traffic citations.

Concealed Motorcycle Recovered

The investigation led to the recovery of the motorcycle that was concealed at a residence on Storer Road.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation is ongoing. No additional information was released about the passenger.
