
Three Police Cruiser Hit During High Speed Chase in Maine
A woman was arrested and faces multiple charges after hitting three police cruisers during a chase in South Portland.
Vehicle Driving Erratically During Police Pursuit
The pursuit started after officers saw a vehicle driving erratically in the area of the Maine Mall Road. The vehicle drove into a parking lot and over a curb.
Driver Appeared Frantic and Reused to Lower Window
“When the officer attempted to make contact, the driver appeared frantic and refused to lower her window. Based on the driver’s behavior and operation of the vehicle, the officer suspected impairment,” according to the South Portland Police Department.
Police Attempted Traffic Stop
The driver fled the scene. She drove through several parking lots and made unsafe U-turns around other cars and pedestrians.

Three Police Cruisers Hit During Police Pursuit
The driver crashed into three police cruisers during the chase. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle Stopped and Driver Apprehended and Taken into Custody
The vehicle was eventually boxed in and stopped in a nearby parking lot. The driver, 47-year-old Celena Celeste Smith from Augusta, was taken into custody without incident.

Multiple Charges and Ongoing Crash Investigation
Smith is facing multiple charges including Violating Conditions of Release, Assault, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, Refusing to Submit to Arrest/Detention: Refusing to Stop, Failure Stop, Remain, Provide Information, OUI - Drugs, Driving to Endanger, Failing to Stop for an Officer, Aggravated Criminal Mischief x 3.
