
Man Died Fleeing Police at 150 MPH after Threats with a Gun
A 40-year-old man died early Saturday morning after a crash following a high speed chase in Charlotte, Maine.
Man Allegedly Threatened People with a Gun at a Bar Before Chase
Robert Boggia Jr, was accused of threatening people with a gun at a bar in Calais and fled the scene before the crash on Charlotte Road around 12:48 am.
Man Drove 150 MPH During Police Chase
Police located Boggia driving 150 mph in a red corvette on Route 1 in Calais. Officers tried to catch him but were not successful.
Suspect Drove by a Deputy ta High Rate of Speed
A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy was on Charlotte Road when Boggia drove past him at a high rate of speed. The deputy tried to stop him but Boggia fled.
Deputy Came Upon the Crash Site
The deputy continued pursuit and came upon the crash site.

Man was Ejected from the Vehicle and Body Found at a Distance
Boggia had been ejected from the vehicle and his body was located a distance from the crash.
Driver Died at the Scene
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said high speed was believed to be a significant factor in the crash.
Toxicology Reports Pending and Examination
“Toxicology results are pending an examination of the deceased,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Ongoing Crash Investigation
