One man was injured Saturday night after hitting a police cruiser during a chase in Bar Harbor.
Police Tried to Pull Over Speeding Driver Before Cruiser was Hit
The Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Police Department attempted to stop a speeding driver around 9 pm near Hamilton’s Pond.
Driver Did Not Comply and Sped Away from Police
The driver did not comply and sped away from the scene.
Second Officer Assisted in the Chase and was Hit
A second officer responded and also tried to stop the speeding driver.
Driver Collided with Police Cruiser During Chase
The driver hit the cruiser in its own lane at the intersection near Hulls Cove.

Driver Injured and Transported to an Area Hospital for Medical Attention
The officer was not injured. The driver was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Crash Happened at Intersection
The crash happened on Route 3 in the area of Eden Street and Crooked Road.
