44-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Man Stabbed and Injured in Maine

A 44-year-old woman was arrested and charged Saturday after a man was stabbed in Portland.

Stephanie Vierkant was charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault and taken into custody.

Male Victim Taken to the Hospital with Serious Injuries.

The 45-year-old male victim was stabbed and transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment. He had serious and non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers Called to the Scene after Man Stabbed on Street

The Portland Police Department said officers responded to a report of a man “covered in blood” on Congress Street around 5:25 pm.

Woman Transported to County Jail and Booked

Vierkant was taken to the Cumberland County Jail and booked on the charges.
