One person was shot and died in Poland, Maine on Friday night.

Fatal Shooting in Maine

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South and the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened around 7:50 pm at 252 White Oak Hill Road.

Autopsy to Determine Cause and Manner of Death

The body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. An autopsy will determine the cause and manner of death, said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

No Danger to the Public

Police said there is no danger to the public. The investigation remains ongoing.
