Human Remains Found in Debris after House Fire in Maine
The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office found human remains in the fire debris on Russell Avenue in Auburn on Saturday.
Fire Started in House after 911 Call
This was the same location where a 911 call was made on Saturday morning. A woman told police an armed man was in a fight with her significant other and trying to break in. The woman fled the home after she heard gunshots and a fire started in the house.
Related to the Police Involved Shooting
The incident involved 43-year-old Leein Hinkley who later died in an officer involved shooting.
One Person Still Missing
WGME News said one person is still missing from Russell Avenue. Law enforcement is still searching for the woman’s significant other.
Formal Identification
The formal identification of the deceased will come from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
