House Fire Under Investigation in Maine

A house fire Tuesday night is under investigation after firefighters found the living room and kitchen on fire in Indian Township.

The Indian Township Fire Department said crews responded to the fire around 8 pm at 19 Wolf Drive.

Fire in the Living Room and Kitchen When Firefighters Arrived

“Upon arrival, firefighters discovered an active fire in the living room that had spread into the kitchen area,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Fire Brought Under Control and Put Out by Several Fire Departments

The fire was controlled and extinguished with mutual assistance from the Princeton Fire Department and Grand Lake Fire Department.

Fire Marshall Responded to the Scene to Investigate

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

Fire Started Near the Couch in the Living Room

Officials “determined that the fire originated in the living room near a couch. However, the exact cause of the fire could not be determined,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.

No Occupants Were in the House and No Injuries Were Reported

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
