Maine: Fort Fairfield Man Died after UTV & Tractor-Trailer Crash
A 63-year-old man died Thursday after a UTV and tractor-trailer crash on Presque Isle Street in Fort Fairfield.

The Fort Fairfield Police Department said Robert Chambers from Fort Fairfield died in the crash around 1:45 pm. He was riding in the area where the ATVs use Presque Isle Street to connect the trails.
UTV Driver Attempted to Cross the Road near ATV Trails
“Chambers turned abruptly into the roadway from the shoulder, attempting to cross the road to get to the ATV trail,” said Matthew E. Cummings, Chief of Police, Town of Fort Fairfield.
Tractor-Trailer Collided with UTV
His 2021 Can-Am UTV was hit by a loaded 2007 Kenworth Tractor Trailer unit driven by 21-year-old Camille Aub-Roy of St-Anne -De-Madawaska, New Brunswick.
Man Ejected from UTV
“Chambers was ejected from the UTV and pronounced deceased at the scene, Aub-Roy was uninjured from the incident,” said Chief Cummings.
UTV Driver was not Wearing Seatbelt or Helmet
Chambers was not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt. Aub-Roy was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Law Enforcement and First Responders
Route 1A was closed for almost three hours. Assisting the Fort Fairfield Police was the Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue, the Maine State Police, the Presque Isle Police Department, the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine Department of Transportation.
