Fire at Penobscot Nation Ruled Arson in Maine
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after a building fire on Indian Island was ruled arson.
Early Morning Structure Fire Ruled Arson
The fire happened at 4 Wabanaki Way around 2 am Wednesday morning.
Building is Owned by The Penobscot Nation
The building just outside of Old Town is owned by the Penobscot Nation.

Multiple Agencies Investigation Arson
The Old Town Police Department, the Penobscot Nation Police Department and the Old Town Fire Department are assisting in the investigation.
Fire Caused Significant Damage to the Building
“The fire caused significant damage to the building. No one was hurt. The fire has been ruled arson,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the State Fire Marshals Office at (207) 973-3700 or contact the Penobscot Nation Police Department.
