Woman Seriously Injured after Hitting Pole & Car Fire in Maine
A 38-year-old woman was seriously injured Tuesday after her car was on fire following a crash into a utility pole in Levant.
Woman had Life-Threatening Injuries after Crash
Jennifer Archie from Bar Harbor was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Unresponsive Woman Lying on the Ground when Crews Arrived
The crash happened on Avenue Road around 9:30 am. Archie was “found lying on the ground unresponsive” when crews arrived, said Levant Fire & Rescue.
Car Hit Utility Pole and Knocked Down Wires
Her vehicle hit a utility pole and knocked down wires that presented a hazard for first responders. Archie’s car was fully engulfed in flames.
Neighbors Pulled women from Burning Car
Bystanders pulled Archie away from the crash after her car caught on fire, said WABI News.
Driver Ejected from Vehicle
Witnesses said Archie was ejected 10 feet from her vehicle during the crash.
Car and House Fire Extinguished
The vehicle fire was also causing a fire to a nearby house. Crews were able to put out the car and structure fires.
Women Taken to Hospital
Archie was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
