A 52-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon after a moped crashed into a pickup truck in Bar Harbor.

Woman Died after Moped and Truck Crash

The crash happened around 2:45 pm in the area of State Highway 102 and Gilbert Farm Road.

Woman Ejected from Moped

Anita Burdzel from Bar Harbor was ejected from the moped. She was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Moped and Truck Collision

Police said the crash occurred as the pickup truck was stopped and waiting for another vehicle to turn. Burdzel quickly came up behind the truck, said WABI News.

Truck Driver Tried to Avoid Crash

The truck driver tried to avoid the crash and pulled over. Burdzel collided with the side of the truck and was ejected from the moped. The truck driver was not injured. Name and age were not released.

Investigation Remains Open

The crash investigation is ongoing.
