Pilot Injured after Plane Crash in the Androscoggin River, Maine
A plane with mechanical issues crashed Sunday morning in the Androscoggin River in Topsham.
Pilot Got Out and Two Kayakers Helped
Topsham Fire & Rescue said the pilot “self-extricated and was picked up by two local kayakers and brought to shore. Topsham units used their boat to retrieve the patient.”
Injured and Taken to Hospital
The pilot had non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Name and age were not released.
First Responders on the Scene
Assisting Topsham Fire & Rescue was the Topsham Police Department, Lisbon Fire Department, Maine Warden Service and Brunswick Maine Fire Department. DEP & FAA have been notified.
