Man Charged with OUI after Causing Several Crashes in Maine
A 74-year-old was arrested for OUI Wednesday after hitting vehicles on Webbs Mills Road in Raymond and causing a chain reaction of crashes.
OUI Charges after Driver Crashed and Caused Accidents
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Pulieris from Raymond was “highly intoxicated” when he was arrested and charged with OUI, Operating After Suspension and Reckless Conduct.
Drunk Driver hit Family Vehicle
Pulieris first hit a Subaru Forester driven by 31-year-old Dylan Blackman from Raymond with his family in the vehicle. No one was injured. Blackman pulled into the Good Life Market Parking lot with extensive damage to the vehicle.
Driver Injured and Vehicle Totaled
Pulieris then hit a Mazda Sedan stopped in traffic at the intersection of Route 302. The driver, 29-year-old Thomas Windsor from Raymond, had minor injuries and his vehicle was totaled.
Chain Reaction of Crashes
The crash caused a chain reaction. The Mazda rear-ended a Volkswagen driven by 53-year-old Michael Binnette from Paris, Maine. He was uninjured and his vehicle was disabled.
Vehicle Rear-Ended Vehicle
The impact caused the Volkswagen to rear-end a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 22-year-old Mark Winter from Raymond. Winter was not injured and his vehicle had minor damage.
Suspect Injured and Taken to the Hospital
Pulieris was taken to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries. Traffic was delayed for close to an hour in the area.
