A 25-year-old woman was arrested early Friday morning and charged with Murder after a 22-year-old woman was shot and killed in Lewiston.

Police found Powell on the street with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Her body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Death Ruled a Homicide and the Cause of Death a Gunshot Wound

“The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound and the manner of death homicide,” according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
