Three Vehicles Stolen and Four People Apprehended in Maine
An 18-year-old man and three juveniles were charged after three vehicles were stolen in Lewiston.
Three Vehicles Stolen and Four People Apprehended
The thefts happened overnight between June 20th and 21st in different areas including Pine Street, Mitchell Street and North Temple Street.
First Vehicle Located Driving on the Street
The Lewiston Police Department located one of the stolen vehicles being driven on Russell Street.
Vehicle Sped Away from Officers
The driver refused to stop for officers and fled the scene.
Police Pursuit Ended in Crash
The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed on Sabattus Street and six people inside the vehicle fled on foot.

Police apprehended four of the six individuals, one adult and three juveniles, who tried to run away.
18-Year-Old Arrested and Charged After Crash
Officers charged 18-year-old Larando Sweeting with Violation of Conditions of Release, Refusal to Submit to Arrest and Theft by Unauthorized Taking w/priors.

Three Juveniles Charged and Released to Parents
The three juveniles were charged with Refusal to Submit to Arrest and Theft by Unauthorized Taking. They were all summonsed and released to their parents.
Two Other Vehicles Located and Recovered
Two other vehicles were located unoccupied and recovered by police.
