James Day Sr., 47, is being held at the Hancock County Jail after he surrendered to police late Thursday afternoon, according to police.

More than 20 police officers responded to the double-wide mobile home at 72 Needles Eye Road, after Day fired four shots inside the home from a rifle, police said.

Three persons inside the home left and State Troopers, Game Wardens, Marine Patrol Officers and Hancock Deputies responded to the house.

Day surrendered about four hours later after talking by phone to a Trooper. No one was injured.
