Police Investigating after Body Found in Cemetery in Maine

Police are investigating after a body was found Friday morning at the Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.

The investigation is active pending the Chief Medical Examiner's report. Detectives with the Maine State Police Major Crime Unit were on the scene.

No Threat to the Public

The Rockland Police Department said, “foul play is not suspected at this time and there is no known threat to the public.”

No Criminal Charges Pending

The next of kin has been notified. “The name of the deceased will not be released out of respect for the family and due to no criminal charges pending,” said Rockland PD.

Not Reported Missing

“The deceased had not been reported missing to law enforcement at the time of their death,” according to Rockland Police.
