19-Year-Old Man Arrested after Police Chase & Crash in Maine

A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with OUI after hitting a police cruiser during a chase in Windham.

Charged with OUI and Driving to Endanger

Dayton Hamilton from Poland, Maine was charged with OUI, driving to endanger, eluding an officer, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and criminal speed.

Two Juveniles also in the Vehicle

Two juveniles were passengers in the vehicle. No charges were filed, according to WGME News.

Collided with Police Car

During the chase, Hamilton crashed into a police cruiser and damaged the vehicle.

Crashed at Intersection

He was taken into custody after he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway at the intersection of Windham Center Road and River Road.

Ongoing Crash Investigation

No injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation, said Police.
