One man was critically injured after a shooting in Lewiston on Tuesday afternoon.

Man in Critical Condition after Shooting

Police said the man had a serious gunshot wound and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in critical condition.

Reports of Gunfire

Officers received reports of gunshots around 3 pm at the intersection of Walnut Street and Pierce Street. Police also heard the gunshots.

Serious Gunshot Wound

All parties fled the scene before police arrived. Officers searched the area and “police located a male who had suffered a serious gunshot wound,” said Lewiston PD.

Area Shut Down for Investigation

The area was shut down as investigators gathered evidence from the scene.
