Man with Felony Warrants Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Maine
A 48-year-old man with felony warrants was arrested for Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Possession after police seized drugs, firearms and a stolen motorcycle in Clinton.
Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Possession Arrest
Clinton Police said Israel Carpenter had “5 active warrants, including 4 felony warrants. He was also under 3 sets of felony conditions of release and 1 set of misdemeanor conditions of release.”
Search Warrant
Officers took Carpenter into custody at 774 Main Street after a search warrant was executed at the address.
Flashbang Used by Tactical Team
“The tactical team used a flashbang device, and after Carpenter initially refused to surrender, he was taken into custody without incident after about 40-50 minutes,” said police.
Drugs, Firearms, Stolen Motorcycle Seized
Officers seized 13.7 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine on Carpenter. Police also seized numerous edged weapons, multiple firearms, a stolen motorcycle, 299.3 grams of methamphetamine, 48.8 grams of fentanyl, 11 hydrocodone pills, 16.5 grams of cocaine and alcohol in violation of Conditions of Release.
Multiple Charges
Carpenter was taken to the Kennebec County Jail and is facing charges for 3 counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking, Unlawful Drug Possession, 3 counts of Violating Conditions of Release, and 1 count of Violating Conditions of Release.
