A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged after a high speed chase in Clinton.

Man Arrested After Trying to Elude Deputies

Matthew Gray from Skowhegan was taken into custody on April 21 after fleeing from police on Canaan Road. 

Clocked Going 90 mph in a 45 mph Zone

The Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Gray was driving 90 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Driver Passed a Vehicle in a No Passing Zone

Deputies pursued him and he passed another vehicle in a no passing zone going 93 mph.

Suspect Pulled into a Driveway and Ran Away

Gray pulled into a driveway and fled on foot behind a house in a residential area.

Warden Found man Walking on Road During Pursuit

A Maine Warden located him walking on the side of a road. He was apprehended without incident.

Transported to County Jail and Booked with Bail Set at $5,000

He was taken to the Kennebec County Jail with bail set at $5,000.
