4-Year-Old Girl Died after SUV Hit her at Daycare in Maine

A 4-year-old girl died after she was hit by an SUV in the driveway of a daycare in North Berwick.

The crash happened Thursday around 4:46 pm at 74 Buffum Road.

Child was Standing Near Dad’s Truck

The North Berwick Police Department said the child was standing near the father’s pickup truck which was parked in a parking area halfway up the driveway.

Driver Hit Girl with Vehicle in Driveway

Police said another parent, Krystal Meyer from North Berwick, started to park near the truck when the 4-year-old “came out beside the pickup and was struck by the left rear wheel.”

Child Died at the Hospital

The girl was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Police said No Suspicion of Impairment

Police said a chemical test was given to Meyer. “There is no suspicion of any impairment.” The crash is under investigation.
