34-Year-Old Man Arrested after Headbutting Officer in Maine

A 34-year-old man was arrested for assault after headbutting an officer during a domestic disturbance call in Westbrook.

Suspect Charged with Assault and More

Damien Stockman from Westbrook was charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault on an Officer, and Refusing to Submit to Arrest.

Man Headbutts Officer during Disturbance Call

The Westbrook Police Department said officers were called for a disturbance on Pleasant Street around 3 pm on June 5.

Victim Seriously Injured

The victim of an assault was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Police Surrounded House

Police surrounded the house where Stockman was located and took him into custody after a lengthy period of time.

Man Headbutted Officer and Woman Obstructed Arrest

“While taking the suspect into custody, the suspect actively resisted arrest, and headbutted an officer.  Another person on scene actively tried to obstruct officers from taking the suspect into custody,” said Westbrook PD.

Woman Charged with Obstruction

A 51-year-old woman was also arrested. Gretchen Strubell from Westbrook was charged with Obstructing Government Administration.

Officer Injured after Headbutt

The officer who was headbutted had a minor injury and remained on the scene to apprehend the suspects.

Taken to Jail

Stockman and Strubell were transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
