Man Charged with Assault after Shooting Gun at Woman in Maine

A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with elevated aggravated assault after shooting a firearm several times at a woman in Bangor.

Stanley Swallows was taken into custody following an altercation on Sanford Street.

Woman Injured While Escaping Assault

The woman was not hit by the gunshots. She was injured trying to escape the suspect.

Facing Multiple Charges Including Assault and Criminal Threatening

Swallows was charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Reckless Conduct, Criminal Threatening with a Dangerous Weapon, Refusal to Submit to Arrest or Detention and Violation of Conditions of Release.

Taken to County Jail and Charged

He was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and booked.
