A 76-year-old man was arrested Friday morning and charged with assaulting a child being dropped off at a school in Bangor.

Man Charged with Hitting and Kicking Child Being Dropped Off at the School

John Davis was charged with hitting and kicking the child as he dropped the student off at the Downeast School on Moosehead Boulevard. The school is for Pre-K through 3rd grade.

Video Evidence Shown to Police by the School Administrator

The Bangor Police Department said the school administrator had video evidence and showed it to responding officers.

Charged with Domestic Violence Assault

Davis was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Violence Assault.

He was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and booked.
