A 36-year-old man was arrested Monday evening and charged with kicking an EMS worker in the head in Bangor.

Man Charged with Kicking EMS Worker in the Head in the Ambulance

Perry Newell faces charges for kicking the EMS personnel in the head while he was being transported in an ambulance.

EMS Workers Were Called to Park for an Emergency

EMS had responded to an incident at Davenport Park on Main Street around 4:50 pm.

Man Treated at Local Hospital and Released

Newell was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and later released.

Arrested after Assault on EMS Worker

The Bangor Police Department located Newell Tuesday and he was taken into custody.

Multiple Charges Including Assault and Violation Conditions of Release

He was charged with assault on an emergency medical services person and violation of conditions of release.

Taken to County Jail and Booked

Newell was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and booked.
