Two Weekend Fires In Northwest New Brunswick; Canadian Red Cross Aids Four People
Two house fires displaced four people in Saint-Anne-de-Madawaska and Saint Leonard, New Brunswick over the Thanksgiving weekend.
A fire at 235 Theriault Road in Saint-Anne-de-Madawaska forced two men out of the house Monday around noon, said authorities. The Canadian Red Cross is assisting them with food and clothes along with any emergency purchases. They are staying with relatives for now.
A fire at 177 Grand River Road in Saint Leonard Sunday around midnight extensively damaged a couple's home. A man and his wife were displaced by the blaze, and she was treated for burns at a local hospital, said the Red Cross. They were waiting for insurers to assess the damage. The Canadian Red Cross provided emergency help for the couple.
