Canadian Red Cross Aiding Family After Woodstock-Area Fire
A fire around 6 p.m. Saturday night displaced a family of five in Richmond Corner, New Brunswick, a few kilometres west of Woodstock.
No one was injured in the fire at 45 Highway 555. The family - a woman and three children - are away for the weekend visiting family. A man who resides there was not at home at the time, said the Canadian Red Cross. Their names have not been released.
Emergency needs like lodging, food, clothing and other basics are being coordinated with the Canadian Red Cross disaster volunteers and the family.
The fire started in the basement, said Woodstock Fire Chief Ricky Nicholson. There was extensive smoke and water damage throughout the two-storey house.
