Two People Died after Plane Crashed and Caught Fire in Maine
The pilot and a passenger died Thursday after a plane crash at Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton.

The Maine State Police said the single-engine Cirrus SR22 “caught fire upon impact and was destroyed.” The crash happened around 12:25 pm.
Two People on Plane
No other people were on board the plane. No one on the ground was injured. Names and ages were not released.
“Deceased to be Identified”
“The deceased will be identified once the Office of Chief Medical Examiner can make a positive identification and next of kin is notified,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.
Plane Took Off from New Jersey
The FAA said “the aircraft had taken off from Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey.” The NTSB and FAA are the primary investigators.
First Responders on the Scene
Assisting Maine State Troopers was the Fire Marshal's Office, the Trenton, Ellsworth and Bar Harbor Fire Departments and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
