A 27-year-old man was sentenced to five years for drug trafficking and possession of meth in Maine.

Man Sentenced to 60 Months for Drug Trafficking and Possession

Angel Luis Lozano from Lowell, Massachusetts will serve 60 months in federal prison. He will also have five years of supervised release. He entered a guilty plea on February 15, 2024.

Charged with Distributing and Possessing Meth

Lozano was charged with “distributing and possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and conspiring to distribute and possess methamphetamine,” according to court records.

Undercover Purchase for Two Pounds of Meth

Officials said Lozano traveled from Massachusetts to Maine to deliver 938.4 grams of meth to 43-year-old Mandy Shorey from Peru, Maine after an undercover agent arranged the purchase of two pounds of meth in November 2022.

Second Undercover Purchase for Two Pounds of Meth

In January of 2023, an undercover officer arranged another purchase of two pounds of meth. Lozano traveled to Maine with co-conspirators from Massachusetts with 459.3 grams of meth.

Woman Faces Life in Prison

Shorey pleaded guilty in April 2024 to drug trafficking, possession and and using a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. She is facing a minimum of 10 years to life in prison.
