A 48-year-old Carroll Plantation man was sentenced 15 months for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Man Sentenced to 15 Months for Firearm Felony

Jason Levasseur's prison time will be followed by three years of supervised release.

Wanted for Probation Revocation

Levasseur was arrested in November 2022 for a state probation revocation. The Maine State Police apprehended him in his pickup truck at a gas station in Danforth.

Three Firearms Found in Truck

He had three firearms in his truck including a “.458-caliber rifle wrapped in a blanket from the backseat. The rifle had two rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber,” according to court records.

Prohibited from Possessing Firearms

Levasseur was not allowed to have any firearms due to several prior convictions including three state convictions for illegal possession of a firearm.
