Cyrus Griffin from Connecticut was ordered to serve 60 months for trafficking cocaine and fentanyl.
Pleaded Guilty to the Charges
He pleaded guilty on April 1, 2025. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann.
Man was on Parole for Homicide when Arrested in Maine
Griffin was on parole for homicide when he was taken into custody during a traffic stop on October 25, 2024. He was not supposed to leave his home state.

Cash and Illegal Drugs Found on Person
The Maine State Police searched his person and found more than $2,000 in cash and illegal drugs according to the United States Attorney's Office.
Approximately One Pound of Cocaine Seized with Fentanyl
Troopers also searched his vehicle and seized almost a pound of cocaine and close to 135 grams of fentanyl.

Handgun Found Under Driver’s Seat and Paraphernalia Confiscated
A handgun under the driver’s seat was confiscated. Police also found drug processing paraphernalia and a cutting agent.

The Drug Enforcement Agency was the lead investigator in the case. The Maine State Police and the Maine Attorney General’s Office assisted.
