Search Underway for 51-Year-Old Missing Fisherman in Maine
A 51-year-old fisherman was missing and the Coast Guard is searching for him in Milbridge.
Search Underway for Missing Man
Alton Wallace was last seen 8 am Sunday at the Milbridge Town Dock. He did not return home on Sunday after clam fishing.
Phone Ping Used to Try and Locate Fisherman
Officials used a phone ping from Wallace’s cell to determine his location near Fickett Point at the mouth of the Narraguagus River.
Skiff Found
Wallace’s skiff was located shortly after near Pinkham Island, said WGME News.
400 Miles Searched
Multiple agencies searched for him for 14 hours with aircraft, helicopters and boats. The search was spread out over 400 nautical miles.
Ongoing Search
The search was suspended Monday morning and continues Tuesday.
