The body of a missing 51-year-old fisherman was found and recovered Saturday in Narraguagus Bay.

Missing Fisherman’s Body Recovered

Alton Wallace from Milbridge was reported missing on May 18 after not returning from clam harvesting.

Fisherman Found Body

A fisherman found his body Saturday around 11 am on the shore of Foster Island. The Maine Marine Patrol was alerted.

Driver’s License Confirmed Identity

Authorities confirmed Wallace’s identity using his driver’s license photo. His license was found in his pocket, said WMTW News.

Large-Scale Search

A multi-agency search was done to find him after he went missing. The search included planes, boats, local fishermen, Underwater Recovery Team, U.S. Coast Guard, Maine Warden Service and Maine Forest Service.

Cell Phone Signal

A cell phone signal in May detected Wallace’s last known location near Fickett Point, about a mile from where his body was found.
