Residents Escape Apartment Building Fire in Maine
Several people escaped an apartment building fire Monday night on Sanford Road in Wells.
Firefighters Battled Apartment Building Blaze
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene around 7:39 pm.
Residents Escaped the Fire
"Residents inside the building were able to get out safely and no injuries were reported,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
FMO and ATF Investigating
The State Fire Marshal is investigating with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
Fire Caused by “Smoking Materials”
“Investigators determined that the fire started outside near a porch and was caused by careless disposal of smoking materials,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
