Presque Isle Man Died after Medical Event and Crash in Maine
A Presque Isle man died Friday evening after having a medical event and crashing into a building on Cleaves Road.
Driver Hit Building in Presque Isle
The Presque Isle Police Department said Richard Prue lost control of his vehicle around 6:30 pm, left the road and hit a building. The vehicle then rolled back across the road into a field.
Homeowner and Police did CPR
The homeowner and officers gave Prue CPR until Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance arrived to provide medical care. Prue was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police: Man Suffered Medical Event before Crash
Presque Isle Police said “It is believed that Prue suffered a major medical event prior to leaving the roadway which is what ultimately led to the crash.”
Law Enforcement and First Responders
Assisting at the scene was the homeowner, Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance, the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Maine Warden Service.
Crash Under Investigation
Officer Hunter Flynn is investigating the crash. Sgt. Kyle White and Deputy Matt Brown conducted the Traffic Crash Reconstruction.
