Police are looking for two suspects in connection with a shooting in Presque Isle early Monday morning that left one man in critical condition.

The Presque Isle Police Department says a man called 9-1-1 around 5:50 a.m. reporting that he’d been shot on Northern Road, near Skyway Industrial Park. Officers arrived at the residence and began administering first aid to the victim until the Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance arrived.

The wounded man, whose identity was not released, was taken to Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital where he underwent surgery. He was later transferred by Lifeflight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and remains in critical condition.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 31-year-old Jomo White, a black male, 6’0", 220 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was Atlanta, Georgia. Police say White may have shaved his head and/or beard to change his appearance.

The second suspect is 44-year-old Jason Alexander, a white male, 5’9", 220 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. Alexander's last known address was Blaine, Maine.

Police say both men should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees either of these two men, please call the Maine State Police at 532-5400, Presque Isle Police Department at 764-4476, or Aroostook County Crime Stoppers at (800) 638-8477.

Although schools and some businesses were closed or locked down on Monday, police are considering this an isolated incident and believe the victim and shooter knew each other. The public is asked to remain vigilant, but to go about their normal daily routines.
