The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said speed and unsafe driving were factors in the collision on Route 113 around 8:30 am.
Car Tried to Pass in Opposite Lane at Crest of Hill
Deputies said an 18-year-old driving a car tried passing another vehicle at the crest of a hill and collided head-on with a motorcycle going the opposite direction.
Motorcyclist Thrown from Bike
The motorcyclist was ejected, seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The rider was not wearing a helmet, said WGME News.
Driver Injured after Vehicle Rolled Over Several Times
The vehicle involved in the crash rolled over several times. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.
Ongoing Investigation
Charges are possible as the investigation remains open.
