Fugitive Charged with Kidnapping Arrested in Maine

A 41-year-old man with kidnapping charges was arrested as a fugitive from justice in Buckfield.

Police Located Fugitive at Local Residence

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said Derek Pearson was taken into custody Saturday at a residence on Brock School Road.

Residence Surrounded and Man Surrendered to Law Enforcement

Police surrounded the home after locating him at the address. Officers negotiated with him and he surrendered to officers.

Apprehended and Transported to County Jail

He was taken to the Oxford County Jail and charged with being a fugitive from justice and failure to appear after a warrant was executed in Florida.

Fugitive to be Extradited Back to Face Charges

Pearson will be extradited to face the charges for violating his probation related to the kidnapping charges.
