
Man Charged as Fugitive and Drug Trafficking after Chase in Maine
A 36-year-old man was arrested and charged as a Fugitive from Justice after he tried to flee from police and drugs were seized.
Baggies of Drugs
The Portland Police Department said officers on patrol saw Jaulil Williams “remove what appeared to be a small baggie of drugs from his pants.”
Suspect Fled from Police
Williams fled on foot when police tried to question him in the area of Portland Street and Forest Avenue.
Two Officers Injured
Two officers were injured during the chase and apprehension. Williams was taken into custody. One officer was treated at Mercy Hospital and released.
Drugs and Money Seized
Police seized 17.1 grams of cocaine base, 11.5 grams of crack, six Oxycodone pills and $2,990 in cash.
Fugitive and Refusing to Submit to Arrest
Williams was charged with being a Fugitive From Justice, Unlawful Drug Trafficking, Unlawful Drug Possession, Failure To Provide Correct Name and Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention.
Taken to Jail
He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail. The investigation remains open.
