A 30-year-old Fort Fairfield man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on Interstate 95 in Howland, just south of Lincoln.

Maine State Police say Ted MacArthur was a passenger in a 2003 Subaru Forester that rolled over in the median at around 7:30 p.m. MacArthur was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Police say the driver, 30-year-old Leslie Greenlaw of Linneus, was headed south and had drifted into the median before coming back onto the roadway. Police say Greenlaw over-corrected, causing the Subaru to go down the embankment. The vehicle struck a culvert and rolled over in the median.

MacArthur was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greenlaw was transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with what police called “non-life threatening injuries.”  She was wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
