Driver Fled after Hit-and-Run with Pedestrian in Maine
A 62-year-old man was arrested after a hit-and-run with a car and pedestrian in Brunswick Saturday morning.
One Arrested and One Injured after Hit-and-Run
The Brunswick Police Department said Frederick Snowdon was driving out of McDonald’s when he hit a person crossing Pleasant Street around 10:30 am.
Driver Stopped and then Fled
Snowden initially stopped and then fled the scene before officers arrived, said Brunswick PD.
Man Fled Across a Lawn and Behind a Garage
Police located Snowden’s vehicle driving at “a high rate of speed” on Church Road and saw him “pull into a driveway, drive across a lawn and park behind a garage.”
Multiple Charges
Snowden was taken into custody and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, Eluding an Officer and Driving to Endanger.
Bail Conditions to Not Operate a Vehicle
He was taken to the Cumberland County Jail with bail set at $500 with conditions to not operate a motor vehicle.
Pedestrian Taken to Hospital with Injuries
The pedestrian was transported to Mid Coast Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
