Hermon Man Sentenced for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
A 44-year-old Hermon man was sentenced Tuesday to five years probation for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
Charles Roberson pled guilty to the charge on July 21, 2016.
According to court records, in 2004, Roberson was convicted in Minnesota of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree. This felony conviction made Roberson a lifetime sex offender registrant.
In or about the fall of 2015, Roberson moved from Minnesota and began living and working in Hermon, Maine. He did not notify the Minnesota Predatory Offender Registration unit that he was moving. Further, up until his arrest on February 23, 2016, he made no attempt to register with the Maine State Police Sex Offender Registry.
The case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
