
Man Sentenced to 45 Years for Murder and Assault in Maine
A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for murdering his ex-girlfriend in Skowhegan.
Man Charged with Murdering Ex-Girlfriend Sentenced to 45 Years
Jason Servil from Massachusetts was charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Alice Abbott in 2022.
Additional Charge for Aggravated Assault
He was also charged with aggravated assault after attacking a man believed to be in a romantic relationship with Abbott.
Pleaded Guilty after Plea Deal
Servil reached a plea deal and pleaded guilty to murder and aggravated assault in January 2024.
Woman was Stabbed 99 Times
Court records said Abbott was stabbed 99 times. An autopsy was done to determine the manner and cause of death.

Police found her body at a residence on Canaan Road in Skowhegan in July 2022.
Victim’s Brother Charged and Police Used Stun Gun and Handcuffs
During the sentencing in April 2024, Abbott’s brother charged Servil in the courtroom. He was stopped with a stun gun and placed in handcuffs. He was not charged.

Sentencing Vacated after Violation of Due Process
The sentencing was vacated in August 2025 after the Maine Supreme Court ruled the judge violated due process by reading Abbott’s obituary in court, according to WABI News.
