60-year-old Man Found Dead in a Motorcycle Crash, Amity, Maine
A 60-year-old man from Dedham died in a motorcycle crash on Route 1 Saturday evening in Amity after he lost control and went into the ditch.
Police said Jeffrey Warren was unresponsive when he was located in the woods. When Houlton Ambulance and other first responders arrived, he was already dead.
The accident was first reported around 5:07 pm when a homeowner went to get his mail and saw the motorcycle in the ditch.
Sgt. Josh Haines from the Maine State Police said Warren was driving his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Route 1 when he lost control. The bike went down on its side, and slid off the roadway into the woods. Warren came off his Harley during the crash. He was found in a wooded area, a short distance from his bike.
A helmet was located at the accident scene. Police said it did not appear he was wearing it at the time of the crash.
Trooper Cooper Plaisted and Sgt. Josh Haines investigated the incident. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
