38-year-Old Man from Maine Arrested after Police Chase
A 38-year-old man was arrested Saturday after a police chase in Waterville and Oakland.
Man Led Police on a Chase down Side Streets
Police said Christopher Ratte of Vassalboro did not stop for officers on College Avenue and led police on a chase down side streets. The chase was eventually called off.
Vehicle Located Behind Local Business
Ratte’s vehicle was located Saturday night at a business on Kennedy Memorial Drive. He was not in the vehicle, said WGME News.
Suspect Arrested in Basement
Ratte was later found in the basement of a Vassalboro home and taken into custody. He was transported to the Kennebec County Jail.
Facing Multiple Charges
He was charged with five counts of aggravated reckless conduct, two counts of refusing to submit to arrest or detention, driving to endanger, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, criminal speed, eluding an officer, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, and failure to give correct name and date of birth.
