
Woman with Suspended License Injured after Crash in Maine
A 40-year-old woman was seriously injured Sunday after crashing down an embankment near the Little Androscoggin River in Auburn.
Crashed Down Embankment through Barrier, Light Post and Trees
The Auburn Police Department said Rachel Walton from Auburn lost control of her vehicle, crashed into a light post, a metal barrier, several trees, and came to rest 30 feet down an embankment.
Injured and Taken to Hospital
Walton had serious injuries and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center.
Speed and Distracted Driving Factors
Police said “speed and distracted driving are likely a factor.”
Suspended License
Walton had a suspended license and charges are expected, said Auburn PD.
Crash Investigation
Main Street was closed for an hour to remove the vehicle. The crash is under investigation.
