UM Picked 4th In Preseason Baseball Poll
The University of Maine Black Bears were selected to finish in fourth place in the 2017 America East Baseball Preseason Poll. Binghamton was selected in the first place spot as an unanimous selection.
UMaine was picked in the fourth place with 22 total votes, four points behind third place Hartford, and eight behind Stony Brook in second. The Black Bears last season sported a 20-35 record and were 8-15 in conference play. Maine was eliminated after three games in the America East tournament last May.
The baseball season will begin for the Black Bears next Friday (January 17th) as they head down to South Carolina to face the Winthrop Eagles. Nick Derba will coach the team as interim head coach after Steve Trimper left for the same position within Stetson University in early 2017.
