Two Men Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Maine
Two men were arrested Thursday for drug trafficking and narcotics seized during a search warrant in Waldoboro.
Drug Trafficking Arrests in Maine
The MDEA said 50-year-old Hollis Owen from Mattapan, Massachusetts and 42-year-old Shawn Brewer from Waldoboro were taken into custody after a months-long investigation.
Undercover Purchases
Agents with the Mid-Coast District Task Force conducted undercover purchases of drugs from Brewer’s residence on Finntown Road. Owens lived at the same home.
Search Warrant Executed
A search warrant was executed Thursday by the MDEA, Maine State Police Tactical team, Waldoboro Police Department, Waldoboro EMS and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
Illegal Narcotics, Money and Gun Seized
Law enforcement seized 13.9 grams of Fentanyl, 11.5 grams of Meth and 2 grams cocaine base, $7,236 in suspected drug proceeds, and a loaded handgun.
Suspects Tried to Flush Drugs Down Toilet
“Owens and Brewer attempted to destroy the narcotics by flushing them in the toilet. Agents were able to recover the narcotics from the sewer drain at the residence,” said the MDEA.
Two Men Charged with Multiple Crimes
Owens was charged with 3 Counts of Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drugs Class A. Bail was set at $25,000. Owens was taken to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset.
Brewer was charged with 1 Count of Aggravated Trafficking Schedule W Drugs Class A. Bail was set at $10,000. Brewer was transported to Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset.
